What One Tip Would You Give To Bring Traffic To A Website?

I am not sure if I could post a link to my website here without violating the TOS, but we are a recruiting agency and are now offering new services such as career coaching and resume writing. So any specific SEO advice would be appreciated. If someone knows if I can post the link here, that would be great, too.

    Link building is one of the most important parts of SEO. Here are some great link building techniques. Top 20 here…
    1. Link bait.
    2. Post link on forums in signature.
    3. Do something groundbreaking that gets picked up by a news site.
    4. Give freebies away.
    5. Link to others and they might link to you.
    6. Post your link as a source in Yahoo Answers or other questions sites.
    7. Link exchange.
    8. Insult another site. Ex, No Daddy
    9. Promote another site.
    10. Make an ebook.
    11. Produce great content.
    12. Start an affiliate program.
    13. Link from your other sites.
    14. Go to a dofollow blog and become a top commentator.
    15. Guest post and make sure your link is on the author bio.
    16. Form some sort of partnership with other webmasters.
    17. Submit an article to article sites.
    18. Submit and article to sites that need an article and make sure your link is on it.
    19. Provide a great service.
    20. Offer your service or product for free.(at least at first)

    To get traffic to your website, you need only one thing: links towards your website!
    To keep them on your website, or have your visitors create more links towards your pages, you need quality content, served in a good way (good interface).
    To rank high in the search engines, you need your metadata, your site-structure, your content etcetera.

    Well I wouldn’t think that just one tip is enough.
    You’ve got to serious about SEO or don’t waste your time on it at all. So far I know only one resourse on the web that gives you real PRACTICAL guidance and lets you get started without any basic SEO knowledge at all.

    My personall suggestion is anyway, that you start with keyword research and then do some on-page optimization (i.e. content optimization). Good luck to you!

    The most important thing you can do is focus on relevancy and make certain you are targeting the right keywords. Do a quick 5-10 minute keyword analysis using Google Keyword Tool

    You should use a different set of keywords for each optimized page. I suggest targeting 2-5 keywords per page. Use the keywords in page titles, meta tags, content, alternate image text, anchor text, link building campaigns, etc.
    You also should build some authority links. Choose your link placement resources by the relevancy and quantity of human traffic that link will bring your website. You can build links by writing an article for an industry leader and include a link which point back to your website, submit link to niche directories, request a link exchange, etc. To learn more about link building visit

    You should also join some social networks, such as Digg, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, etc. and join groups, make friends, add articles, participate, and contribute to the community. You don’t need to get crazy and spend hours a day at it, but spend an hour or two each day or each other day. In addition you should join a few niche forum groups and participate in forum discussions.
    Use a web tracking software to monitor your website performance. I suggest and prefer server-side software, otherwise use a browser-based software such as Google Analytics free.

    Hi Mate,
    You can get heaps of free traffic from social networking sites, such as facebook and myspace. This is better known as web 2.0 marketing. You can actually get a Free 5 part course on how to do this from http://www.web20websitetrafficsystem.com... I got a copy of the free 5 part course myself and learnt how to get heaps of free traffic. Before this I was using Google Adwords, which was very expensive.

    Then:
    Clean code
    Lots of links pointing to your site from others
    Make networking profiles for your business and link it
    Add your site to the UK Free Business Index
    Add your site to BT Tradespace

    If you google the keyword “make money online for beginners”, you will find an ugly blog at #1 always. Its secret – backlinks. For free backlinks, you can try a free service where you have to submit articles. Each article will earn you 60 one-way links. These are delivered in a controlled manner so it will look natural to search engines.
    Also, try to learn some basic SEO tricks.for your META tags, alt tags and textual content.

    You can add metadata to your Sitemap (with a capital S). You can specify keywords in the metatags that should bring your website up when users do a search engine search.
