Hello,
We run a medium sized importers of grey market footwear, we have recently put together a website but we are stuck for ideas to promote it and obtain more online trade.

We have official documentation to provide advertisers to prove our goods are sourced for the official distributors of foreign countries. So thats not a problem.

My brother -in -law is a shoe buyer.. and been in trade for 35 years I will pass your question ….If it works and only if it works I would like one % of trade .commission…..deal?

    Use the net. I found this site while reading the New York Times. This website called Wpromote a big advertiser for Verizon, Sony, Careerbuilder.com and Universal Music Group has a program for small businesses and startup websites called Quicklist. They give you google sponsored links for only $99 a month, 10 keywords, a hand submission to the search engines, and a local listing in Google and Yahoo. I use them myself for my blog site. They choose keywords for you or you can choose them. If you go into Google Search and type in “Wpromote” click on the 3rd link that says Wpromote Online Advertising and they will give you 30% off your first month. I get about an average of 300 visits a day. I been using them for a 2 months and some days now. I hope this helps you.

    Before you drive any more traffic to your website, there are some things that need to change on it. Nowhere is there any information about your company’s address. I’ve looked at your contact page and your terms and conditions. In your About Us page you say that you’re based in Manchester. That’s a very big city! As a business person, I wouldn’t do business with a company that doesn’t clearly show it’s contact details.

    Your terms and conditions don’t include anything about distance selling regulations. You need to abide by them if you’re selling via your website.

    Once you’ve put these things right (and got rid of the annoying pop up about becoming a reseller), it’s time to drive traffic to your site. There are two main ways to do this – via the web and off-line.

    To drive more traffic to your site on-line means optimisation of your site so that it comes up more frequently and higher up in searches. Think carefully about your keywords and phrases and make them specific to the type of people you want to attract.

    Off-line, think about those same people and where they “gather”. Do they go to trade shows? What magazines do they read? Are there conferences that they attend? Can you reach them through trade associations? Armed with answers to those questions, you can work out the best ways of contacting them.
