My company can build websites using Microsoft technologies like Asp.net C# , MS Sql server.
Can do SEO (search engine optimization)

Is it difficult to start such a business in this area?

I think it’s difficult everywhere to be honest. I’m newly trained in the same things as you, XHTML, Perl, PHP, JavaScript server technologies etc etc, but finding someone to take me on as employee or contractor is proving difficult. As a result I’m investing in as much extra training as I possibly can, making me more attractive in more than one area.
