I love my online bank becuase they offer a much higher saving account rate than my bank can. Think about the logistics, if an e-bank (which is still FDIC insured) has no branches, unlike my brick and mortar bank which has hundreds, that is hundreds of less construction costs, maintenance, employees, ect, which leads to lower interest rates and higher savings rates.
As long as one can get over not being able to go to a physical location to get money, I think that e-banks are the way of the future.
