How do I delete the history of the yahoo search engine on yahoo’s home page?

    To delete individual searches from drop down menu in the Yahoo! Home Page ‘Web Search’ bar (and Google Search):
    Hover pointer on search to highlight, then hit the ‘delete’ key on your keyboard. Hold down ‘delete’ key to delete all.
    To clear passwords, pages, web search history, and temporary files in Yahoo! Web Search bar (and Google Search) with IE6 Browser: (Clear Cache)
    1. Log out (’Sign Out’)
    2. Click ‘Tools’ on your browser.
    3. Click ‘Internet Options’.
    4. At the ‘General’ tab, in the ‘Temporary Internet files’ section:
    (a. Click Delete Cookies’.
    (b. Click ‘OK’.
    (c. Click ‘Delete Files’.
    (d. Check the box: ‘[/]Delete all offline content’
    (e. Click ‘OK’.
    5. At the ‘History’ section:
    (a. Click ‘Clear History’.
    6. Click the ‘Content’ tab (top center).
    In the ‘Personal information’ section:
    (a. Click the ‘AutoComplete’ button.
    In the Clear AutoComplete history’ section:
    (b. Click on the ‘Clear Forms’ button.
    (c. Click ‘OK’.
    (d. Click on the ‘Clear Passwords’ button.
    (e. Click ‘OK’.
    (f. Click ‘OK’.
    7. Click ‘OK’.
    8. To disable this feature:
    In the ‘Use AutoComplete for’ section:
    Uncheck the boxes:
    ‘[_] Web addresses’
    ‘[_] Forms’
    ‘[_] User names and passwords on forms’
    11. Close browser.
    12. Open browser.
    13. Log back in (’Sign In’).

    If you have Windows IE7 browser:
    >click ‘Tools’
    >click ‘Delete Browsing History’
    >click ‘OK’

    If you have Mozilla Firefox browser:
    >click ‘Tools’
    >click ‘Clear Private Data’
    ——
    Firefox:
    >click ‘Tools’
    >click ‘Options’
    >click the ‘Privacy’ tab.
    >click the ‘Clear’ button (in the ‘Saved Form Information’ section)
    If you don’t want Firefox to save this data in the future, uncheck the box:
    ‘[_]Save information I enter in web page forms and the Search Bar’

    To clear AutoComplete forms (delete search history):

    Deleting your Internet cache should take care of your problem.
    If you are using IE go to and then under Browsing History.
    If you are not using IE, let me know and I’ll get details for your browser.
