    http://www.google.com/addurl/
use this link, google is the most commonly used search engine so here it is, but you won’ be on the front page unless you pay!

There is no way you can just put your website in a search engine. You can submit the URL though to google, yahoo, ask and Live. Also submit it to dmoz. But it is up to the Search Engine to find your site and add it to it’s index. A way to know if you are in the Index is to run a search of you URL in google or any other search engine if your site shows up in the results then you are in. Now getting your site to rank for key phrases in search engines that’s a whole different thing.

As others have already said submit your site URL at http://www.google.com/addurl
Then you will have to wait for Google to accept your URL.
Avoid using more than 10 keywords otherwise you risk being banned from the search engine for spamming.
Try to include relevant keywords into the content of your pages and tag your images too, this is known as the alt tag, basically you just name the picture in picture properties. This will help when people are doing image searches to find sites like yours.
The title tag is the most important one to do as this will be the first line of text to appear on a search.
If you do things correctly it is possible to appear on the first pages of Google etc without paying…I’m doing it now :-)
Adding a links page to your site and making reciprocal links to other sites will help traffic to your site and give a better ranking on search engines too.
    Best of luck

to get into a search engine u have to pay to get on the front page for keywords like if someone types soccer u page shows up but if u want ur page to show up just when someone searches for it u shud wait for 1-2 months and it shud appear in googles cache

I have great luck by using Googles add URL and meta tags and telling robots to index your site
I have done a handful of web pages and seem to get them in the top 10 as long as someone is looking for something pertinent to the site.
Be careful with the so call search engine registers don’t use your real email address so many of them are just out there to harvest you email address.
They say they will register you with hundreds of search engine what good is that most people use Google Yahoo or MSN as I have found by watching my stats.
I have added the link to a free web stats page that give you all kinds of info on who’s coming by your site

Add meta tags to your website with correct keywords that people will use to search for sites similar to yours. So when google and other search engines crawl the web looking for keywords, they will find your site.

  • Josh says:

So you can submit your site’s URI (sometimes known as URL/web address) manually at Google (http://www.google.co.uk/addurl/), Live.com Search (http://search.msn.com/docs/submit.aspx?F… Yahoo (http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html… etc.
But that won’t immediately add your site to their index. It will add your URI to their list of sites to crawl. It will probably eventually get crawled anyway, but at the end of the day neither really matters … you need to get a good search relevance ranking – i.e. a high PageRank on Google, etc.
The best ways to make your site more likely to be indexed are these:
    * Use and
    * Purchase a domain name – i.e. http://www.yoursite.co.uk rather than http://www.webhost.com/yoursite. They’re far more likely to index you.
    * Ensure that your site complies to web standards – i.e. is valid (X)HTML (http://validator.w3.org/), doesn’t use layout tables, etc.
    * Don’t use frames for layout
    * Don’t try and cheat the search engine. Including a hidden-to-users keyword section on your page will get you ignored by search engines.
    * Get other sites to link to you (but don’t spam on forums, blogs, or the like). Google’s PageRank algorithm, for instance, has a number between 0 and 1 for each web page in its index, which determines the site’s relevancy to users and ranking in search results. This is increased each time Google’s crawler finds another site that links to your’s. The higher PageRank that site has, the more it confers to you.
    Hope that helps.

You don’t. The search engine crawls the web and caches your site and the link for use in it’s search, but that you can’t do anything about unless you send in a request to them to remove your site or something.
