How Do You Remove A Prior Search You Did On Google Or Yahoo Or Any Other Search Engine?

If you go to a search engine and type in your search, how do you remove it so that the next time you go back it doesn’t keep coming up? My computer is showing all previous searches, and I don’t want them to remain on the computer I’m using as it is public. How do I delete them?

    This works for Internet Explorer.
Open Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options…
Then click on Content > Autocomplete> Clear Forms…..
You can also untick it if you don’t want it to remember again in the future…

Clearing history and cookies works for any websites visited, but I think you’re referring to the quick type when you actually type it in the the search bar.
I believe there is a setting to change, but to be honest I don’t know what it is. When I find it, I’ll let you know. And I’ll keep checking to find out if anyone gives you the real answer!
    ***EDIT***
Didn’t take me as long as I though….GO to the START menu; select “SECURITY CENTER” (All programs::Accessories: :System Tools::Security Center) and pick the tab that says Content. Under “Personal information” is a button that says “AutoComplete…” Click on that and you’ll get a new window. Click on the “Clear Forms” button to delete your previous searches.

If you mean the drop-down auto-complete in the search bar; then go to the search bar, press down arrow to show the entire list of stored phrases, scroll down to one and press shift+delete, and it’s gone.
