My Search Engine Has Been Changed To Baidu, Which Is A Chinese Search Engine. How Do I Get Rid Of It? ?
I never authorized my home page to be changed in any website. Also, when my computer is on but not actively on the web, this Baidu search engine automatically connects me to the web. Other than the logo, everything else in in Chinese. Help!

Behind Baidu hijacking the traffic of Google, Yahoo and Microsoft may be the fact that China is upset with the US over the award it granted to the Dalai Lama and is retaliating by hurting US-based search engines. Read about it at the 3 links posted below:http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/10/18/bai…http://www.techcrunch.com/2007/10/18/cyb…http://searchengineland.com/071018-07182…
Your description leads me to believe that Baidu may have installed some adware on your harddrive. I suggest to get the freeware tool “hijackthis”, it quickly scans your computer to find settings that may have been changed by spyware, malware or other unwanted programs. HijackThis creates a report, or log file, with the results of the scan. Check the “overview, FAQ and quick start guide” buttons in the top bar to find out how this tool works.http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/…http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HijackThis
Then google for “hijackthis forum”, click on one of the many links and follow the prompts. Those forums have volunteers who help you to analyze your hijackthis log and get rid of the malware on your computer. Below are a couple of links to such forums:http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f…http://www.techsupportforum.com/security…http://www.security-forums.com/viewforum…http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30
In the address bar type in google.com
Then go to tools>internet options
and select use current page for my homepage.
I’m assuming your using Internet Explorer.
