What Do You Think Would Make For A Perfect Search Engine?
Many people use google as their favourite search engine.
I want to know how a future search engine could be better than google.
What features would it have, would it be free, any other ideas.
I like google but think it is by no means perfect.
What is the perfect search engine?

Great question
They will store files and view them 3 dimensionally…you will
be able to navigate by sight, and not in the trust that google is right all time…(how much stuff that you don’t need currently comes up in your average search? – this will stop as there is a masssive amount of redundancy in terms of processing power)
It has to get smarter: there is too much crap on the web these days…the search engines will devolve to give the user the freedom to search intelligentally whilst enhance in graphic quality to give you a fun and functional way of doing it…
…you heard it here first!
google
The perfect search engine would KNOW exactly what you wanted, and wouldn’t take any work on the user’s part to use.
metacrawler..it searches the search engines
Actually Google, if you learn to use it properly, is pretty damned good. I find most of the problems with it occur between the keyboard and the chair, if you get my drift.
It is very seldom I cannot find what I am looking for in less than 5 minutes. How are you supposed to improve on that?

1. When you mouse over a word, it should tell you the definition of that word.
http://www.dmovers.com
2. Remove the Adwords.
3. It should show you where the provider is from.
4. It should show the position number of the site found, like Yahoo.
5. It should show you the cached date.
6. It should show you the last time that site was updated.
7. My site should show up as #1 when doing a search
Google Toolbar (ver 2) does a lot of good stuff, like it suggests words as you type it (avoiding typos.)
Yes, it should be for free.
That’s all I can think of.
one that only gave you answers that other people found useful for the same or similar questions. fwiw I like clusty.com — much easier to home in on what i’m looking for.
