It&#039;s too easy to abuse the keywords tag, so search engines have given up on them in favor of parsing through a page&#039;s actual content.  I think http://www.dmoz.org/ makes full use of a site&#039;s meta tags, but I&#039;m not so sure they use the keywords tag.
The &lt;title&gt;&lt;/title&gt; tags are still made use of.  It can be to your advantage to include a very short description of site in those.</description>
