i wanna just delete the previous findings on the search engine on the yahoo bar….major issue if i didnt delete!!!! HELP!!!

My google search engine bar and my address bar save everything I type into them (search terms and web addresses) so that if I type something beginning with the same letter again, the old ones pop up.
This can be convenient, but some of them contain typos, or are old, or are personal, etc….
So how can I delete them, and stop the computer doing this?

I typed in my ex-husbands name as I had heard he had become an accomplished writer, now everytime the first two letters of his name are typed into a search engine, his entire name appears as an old choice. I don’t think my current husband would appreciate seeing it. HELP!

Every time I type something in to a search engine or a login name onto facebook it saves it and I want to delete it. On a windows computer you can simply hit delete and it is vanished forever, but the delete button on my mac serves as the backspace, therefore just erasing the letter typed in to get my ‘old’ search/login name there in the first place. Darn Macs!

I have searched everywhere on the net. There is not a single solution that really works. It’s really annoying how everytime I delete it, it comes back again. I need to know a real solution to delete the Yoog Search engine. Does anybody know for sure?
