The help menu says to go to the search engine toolbar icon but I don’t see one nor know how to get one?

I have been searching for a lot of random stuff recently such as Alzheimer’s, and when i find the site i want and click on it, it leads me to another search engine that I’ve never heard of. When I check the history of sites it says “Redirect” and “Jump”. And on every other search engine this keeps happening. This has been happening in the last week only and I’m starting to get PO’ed. Can someone help?

Recently, our computer was basically destroyed because of viruses. We got norton and that PC safe thing and i thought it was fixed. Well, even though i still do a complete system scan and fix, it doesnt fix this. When i use google, after i click on the link to a website (even common ones like WIkipedia), it redirects me to random search engine sites. I dont know why! Please help!

This is from the SEARCH ENGINE’S cache, and not the one on my computer. The website has been changed dramatically, but the cached version of the site remains the same. I need to know how long it will take for Yahoo to shut down the cached version of the site which is no longer available on the internet except for in Yahoo’s cache.

If only one search engine is allowed to be used (while all others are block) at an institution, is this creating a monopoly for the only used search engine?
