Google is the largest and most popular search engine on the Internet today. Because of its size and popularity, some people claim that Google has enormous power to influence a Web user’s search experience solely by its Web site ranking processes. What do you think about this potential power? How could it be used in negative or harmful ways?

I have created a custom search engine on Google. It is only set to include results from my site, not the entire web. I simply put in the url to the site: http://www.tokyoamericanclubwomensgroup.org. Does this take hours? days? weeks? months to index? The code is set up correctly. I just decided to submit a sitemap as well to see if it speeds it up at all.

I’m what you’d call “technically challenged”. I think it’s called a “Tool Bar”, but I’m not sure. It’s located at the top of the screen, right next to where it reads “Yahoo.com”. This space used to read “Google”, it now reads “Web Search”. If anyone knows what I’m talking about, I’d appreciate some help in changing back to Google.

I was messing around with google one time and I found this google search engine that allows you to type in text in the search menu, then it displays all the results; but when you actually copy the link and display it in another window, it shows the procedures (like the text you put in the search bar…and you clicking search). Does anyone know what i’m talking about? What is it?

When I installed BitTorrent, I accidentally turned ask.com as my default search engine and it’s causing a bit of problems, please help!

Recently, our computer was basically destroyed because of viruses. We got norton and that PC safe thing and i thought it was fixed. Well, even though i still do a complete system scan and fix, it doesnt fix this. When i use google, after i click on the link to a website (even common ones like WIkipedia), it redirects me to random search engine sites. I dont know why! Please help!

When I first downloaded FIrefox, I was happy at how the place where you type the web address could also double up as a quick search engine. Just type in a phrase, click “enter,” and you’d come up with Google searches.
