The problem is that i decided to change the look of my website and add new features, now the search engine keeps picking up the old pages that i have deleted. Please help, i need to search the active site and not some cached pages.

I am opening an online only business, selling lingerie and adult “toys”. When I get my website up and running, how do I get it to have better placement on search engines? I would love like within the first 3-5 pages.
